The Nebula is the simplest way into the amslod range. A Bosch Active Line Plus drive unit works with a Shimano Nexus 8-speed hub, so there is one shifter and no front derailleur to think about. The 600 Wh Bosch PowerTube battery sits inside the frame and the Purion 200 display keeps the handlebar clean.

An aluminium frame, 28-inch wheels and a suspension fork take the edge off cobbles and cycle-path joints. Kenda 28 × 2.0 tyres sit between a city tyre and something wider, which is what you want on the mix of asphalt and brick that most Dutch routes are made of.

It suits a daily ride to work, the school run, or errands you would otherwise do by car. Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes stop it loaded, and the front hub is a Joytech unit with a double-wall 36h rim.

What it is not: the Nebula is a city and trekking bike. It has no rear suspension and is not built for trails. If you ride off-road, look at the Zenith.
